Scientific illustration and  abstracted imagery describes
my work.   I find inspiration in what I have seen or experienced in the woods and waters around me.

      Using  traditional materials and processes,
I attempt to render in a large scale the small structures
of delicate  plants and animals with the hope that the audience might look closer at how complex these creatures are.    My paintings are more expressive and conceptual.  Usually when I'm finished with a painting I often see that I have created a narrative about the destruction caused by climate change.

I  share my passion as a maker of images through teaching.   Quality student work is achieved through observation, questioning and expressing visually what they have found.  Student outdoor classrooms engage students.  Being in nature is where they learn to appreciate and conserve this rare gift of woods and waters.
